The Tikkun Olam Committee of the Jewish Community of Amherst is sponsoring a $$ for Food collection in an effort to help both people in need of food and  Amherst area restaurants. Funds collected will be used to support the Amherst Survival Center, Not Bread Alone and Craig’s Doors.  These agencies will then use the money  to purchase take-out food from area restaurants and then distribute that to their clients. The campaign aims to support small businesses in need of revenue while responding to critical needs of our most vulnerable citizens. (Note: the Amherst Board of Health has trained local restaurants in safe food preparation procedures for the current situation.)

  1. Excellent! I love that this is designed to help both clients and Amherst’s wonderful independent restaurants.
