Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas at Amherst College: No Human is Illegal

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, and immigrant rights activist Jose Antonio Vargas will discuss the complexities of immigration in this current moment, the power of media in shaping democracy, and the urgent need for nuanced storytelling about belonging and identity. His consersation, entitled “No Human is Illegal”, is scheduled for Wednesday April 9 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. in Johnson Chapel (37 South Pleasant Street) at Amherst College. The event is free and open to the public.
Vargas is the founder of Define American, an organization that empowers diverse and nuanced storytelling about immigrant experiences.
The conversation will be moderated by Sony Coráñez Bolton, Associate Professor of Spanish and English.
