National Day Of Racial Healing January 17

The Town of Amherst’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Invites the public to participate in the National Day of Racial Healing on January 17, 2023.. For almost a decade the Kellogg Foundation has asked communities, schools, colleges, universities, businesses, and other organizations to participate in conversations designed to begin bridging the racial divide. On Tuesday, January 17, the DEI office will host an opportunity for community members to engage in racial healing conversations. Core Equity and CRESS members will facilitate small group conversations from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m at the Amherst Survival Center. Bring your curiosity, and an open heart (childcare, beverages and snacks will be provided).

The National Day of Racial Healing website resources for facilitating dialogues on racial healing and ideas for involving children, professional colleagues, and policymakers in the process. It also offers a listing of events scheduled around the country. These include a town hall on the subject, broadcast from New Orleans at 10 p.m on MSNBC on January 17.
