The renovated and expanded North Amherst Library will reopen on Monday, February 5. There will be a grand re-opening celebration in the spring. The new community room will be closed for the time being as furnishings have not yet arrived, but the new bathrooms are open as is the new accesible entrance.

The library’s hours are Monday 3:30-7:30; Tuesday 10:00-2:00; Wednesday 3:30-7:30; Thursday CLOSED; Friday 10:00-2:00; Saturday 10:00-2:00; Sunday CLOSED.

  1. All the renovations cannot alter my memories of the countless hours spent at the library as a child, how much more of North Amherst can be erased so that people who were raised there cannot bear to visit because it’s barely recognizeable.

  2. While we lived on Sunderland Rd. for 6 years, my kids and I were weekly visitors to the North Amherst Library, with Cindy Asebrook at the main desk. Thank you, Cindy, for helping light the fire and interest in reading in my children! I can’t wait to walk through those doors again when the library opens!
