The University of Massachusetts Amherst has once again been recognized for its exceptional campus dining experience, earning the coveted No. 1 spot on The Princeton Review’s list of Best Campus Food for an unprecedented ninth consecutive year. The achievement underscores UMass Dining’s commitment to culinary excellence, sustainability, and experiential dining that features globally inspired, culturally driven menus.

The Princeton Review’s 2026 rankings are based on surveys of 170,000 students at 391 colleges and universities across the nation.  UMass Dining is the largest collegiate dining program in the United States. Its consistent top ranking is a testament to its innovative approach to campus dining and commitment to delivering student-focused and locally sourced cuisine from the campus’s five permaculture gardens and more than 100 local farmers and vendors. A variety of healthy and flavorful meals featuring local, regional, and world cuisine are available at its four dining commons, 12 eateries at the Campus Center, more than 20 cafés across campus and two food trucks.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Best Campus Food number-one ranking from the Princeton Review for the ninth consecutive year,” says Ken Toong, Assistant Vice Chancellor of UMass Auxiliary Enterprises, which includes UMass Dining. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and passion of our students, faculty members, staff, culinary team and university administration. Thank you to everyone who has supported us; we will continue to work together to enhance the quality-of-life experience for all. Your enthusiasm and commitment make our campus dining experience truly outstanding. Here’s to many more years of culinary excellence!”
