Public Forum: The Impact of Trump’s Social Policies on Our Community

Nancy Folbre, Professor Emerita of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, will speak on the impact of President Trump’s recent social policies on individuals, families, and our community at public forum in the Ramsdel Room of the Pelham Town Library on Wednesday October 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parking is available nearby. This timely forum is sponsored by the Pelham Democratic Town Committee and is open to all people regardless of political outlook or party affiliation.

Folbre’s talk is entitled, “Trump, Family, and the Care Economy.”

Folbre is a nationally celebrated scholar and speaker on women’s life and labor in our modern economy. She is Director of the Program on Gender and Care Work at the Political Economy Research Institute at UMass Amherst, and Senior Fellow at the Levy Economics Institute at Bard College. In addition to numerous academic books and articles, she a regular contributor to the New York Times as well as to leading journals of opinion. Her many awards include a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship (1998) and the Leontief Prize. More background information
