Meet Bella Astrofsky, The Indy’s New Intern

The Indy is pleased to introduce Bella Astrofsky, our new intern for the Spring 2026 semester.

Bella is a senior journalism major with a minor in political science and specialization in creative writing at UMass. At the Indy, she will be covering the Community Safety and Social Justice Committee (CSSJC) and working on feature stories. Bella also works as an Assistant News Editor covering local news at the Massachusetts Daily Collegian. She has a passion for providing reliable news coverage of all corners of local government to community members.

Outside of reporting, Bella is a research assistant in the UMass Department of Journalism. In her free time, she enjoys reading and watching movies. Bella can be reached at iastrofsky@umass.edu.
