Rally to Support Resolution Calling for ICE Accountability, February 23

The Amherst Town Council will be considering the Resolution Calling for Federal Immigration Agents to be Held Accountable for Violations of Massachusetts Criminal Law on Monday, February 23. A rally will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in front of Town Hall, 4 Boltwood Walk, to show support for this resolution.
The rally will include remarks from local organizers as well as from a drafter and lead sponsor of the resolution. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly and bring signs. After the rally, people are encouraged to attend to Amherst Town Council meeting to demonstrate support for the resolution.
Town Councilors Sponsoring the resolution are: Jill Brevik (District 1), Amber Cano-Martin (District 2), Jennifer Taub (District 4), Ana Devlin-Gauthier (District 5), and Ellisha Walker (at large). Community Sponsors include: John Bonifaz, Free Speech for People, Allegra Clark, Jeff Conant, and Andrew Melnechuk
