Lisa Borchetta, the town’s Director of Senior Services, has resigned, effective Friday, March 6, 2026. Borchetta took on the duties of director on September 8, 2025. She replaced Haley Bolton, who left to become Town Manager in Shutesbury.
Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman reported that he will initiate a search for a new director immediately and will make a decision about interim leadership shortly.

The never ending Amherst season, turn, turn, turn over.
Perhaps if Amherst had a real Senior Center, like its neighboring towns do, it would be a more attractive place for staff to come and to stay. Wildwood School beckons!
Lisa told me the she resigned due to health issues….and I believe her
I am sorry to hear that Lisa is leaving. I had some good conversations with her about what she hoped to do with Senior programming. She told me as well that she was leaving for health reasons. I wish her well.
