Five College Jazz Festival Returns March 27-28

The Five College Jazz Festival returns on Thursday, March 26, and Friday, March 27 on the campuses of Amherst College and UMass Amherst.  All events are free and open to the public. Jazz student groups from Smith, Amherst, and Mount Holyoke Colleges will come together with UMass jazz ensembles for a celebration of jazz.

Thursday evening’s performances will be held in the Friedmann Room, 2nd floor of the Keefe Campus Center, 16 Barrett Hill Dr. Amherst College, from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. and will feature small jazz combos from across the Five Colleges.

Friday evening’s performances will be held at UMass in Bezanson Recital Hall, at the Bromery Center for the Performing Arts, 151 President’s Drive from 6:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. and will feature large group ensembles.

Friday’s lineup will include preformances by the following groups:

UMass Vocal Jazz Ensemble
Smith College Jazz Ensemble
UMass Jazz Lab Ensemble
Amherst College Jazz Ensemble
UMass Jazz Trumpet Choir
UMass Chapel Jazz Ensemble
