Stephen Texeira shared:

“I’ve always been a street wanderer. As an adolescent, I wandered my hometown streets watching, seeing, paying attention, wondering. Who? Why? Where? My street photography is an extension of that compulsion. I take photos not only to satisfy my unending desire to see and know others, but also to gain a deeper understanding of the world around me. These photographs are a few of the moments that touch my soul.

I was born and raised in California and moved to Western Massachusetts in 2022. I am passionate about the people in my life and the work I do each day. I’ve been a journalist, a nonprofit and hospital worker, a marketing consultant, a bed-maker, a furniture deliverer, a ditch-digger, and a typist to pay the rent. Taking photographs is best.”

The Town Hall Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Exhibits are coordinated by the Amherst Public Art Commission. Artists are invited to apply to have their work displayed for the bi-monthly exhibits. Learn more about the Public Art Commission and how to apply on their website: amherstma.gov/art
