After months of submissions, community voting, and incredible creativity, Amethyst Brook Elementary School and Chestnut Street Academy have officially selected their new school logos. Both winning designs were created by Hadley N., a recent Fort River graduate and member of the ARHS Class of 2033.

The logos were selected through a district-wide design contest hosted on ARPS.org. Community members were invited to submit logo concepts that reflected the identity and values of the district’s schools. Following a review process, finalist designs were shared with the community, and the winning logo was chosen through a public vote.  The logo selection process was designed to engage students, families, staff, and community members in shaping the identity of the district’s newest school communities. Through the combination of community submissions and public voting, the process ensured that the selected logo reflected both the values of the school and the voices of those it serves.

Chestnut Street Academy Logo

🌳 Chestnut Street Academy’s logo features a chestnut tree with deep roots and a vibrant canopy, symbolizing growth, resilience, belonging, and the educational journey ahead for students.

In her artist statement about the Chestnut St. Academy logo, Hadley shared:

I feel like it is of great value that the chestnut tree is included in the logo because it represents self-growth and how the students grow from saplings to full-grown trees.”

Hadley will attend Chestnut St. Academy in the fall.

School Superintendent E. Xiomara Herman (Dr. Xi) said of the logo, The symbolism within this logo perfectly captures the purpose of education, The image of a tree growing from strong roots reminds us that every child begins their educational journey with unique strengths and possibilities. Through the support of families, educators, and community members, those students continue to grow, flourish, and reach their full potential. Hadley created a thoughtful design that reflects both the identity of Chestnut Street Academy and the values we hope to instill in every learner. We are proud to celebrate her creativity and grateful for the community members who participated in this process.”

Of the Amethyst Brook logo, Dr. Xi said, “This logo represents everything we hope our schools will inspire in students: creativity, pride, collaboration, and a deep connection to community. Hadley and her family created a design that beautifully captures the spirit of Amethyst Brook Elementary School while honoring a place that is meaningful to so many children and families.
