Guest performers at the September, Pioneer Valley Folklore Society Song & Story Swap will be folk trio
Little Wild Bouquet. The event will take place at First Church, 165. Main St. in Amherst, at 7 p.m. Parking is available in the lot behind the church. There is no admission fee – a hat is passed during the guest artist’s performance for donations, all of which go to the artist with a suggeted minimum donation of $7.50. Guest artists will often have CDs available for purchase.
Little Wild Bouquet began as an offshoot of the Leonard Cohen tribute band The Secret Chord, and Cohen’s uplifting music forms a large part of their repertoire. In addition, they offer an array of folk and rock standards that
inspire and affirm the goodness of life, from such artists as James Taylor, Lucinda Williams, Dave Carter, Gillian Welch, Paul Simon, and The Beatles -to name a few.
Little Wild Bouquet, which takes its name from a line in Cohen’s song ‘Democracy,’ features Gordon Kramer (guitar, vocals), Ruth Critcher and Jody Spritz (vocals). The group’s rich harmonies evoke the classic sound of
Cohen’s touring band, with its trademark “angel choir”.
