Letter: Amherst Climate Leaders Endorse Candidates for Town Council

As Amherst residents and climate action, climate justice, and environmental organizers, we support the following candidates for Amherst Town Council:

Their progressive platforms acknowledge that Amherst is experiencing significant changes and aim to position the town for climate action. They understand that using a climate lens in all of our town decision-making will improve the community’s ability to withstand future climate challenges. Running as progressive or independent candidates against entrenched, development-supported incumbents poses major obstacles, but with community involvement, success is achievable. These candidates are also earnest champions of good government – of transparency, inclusiveness, public participation, accountability, honesty.
