Cuppa’ Joe with Finance Director Sean Mangano

The Town of Amherst invites community members for coffee and conversation with Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman and new Finance Director Sean Mangano on Friday, November 14 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Futura Coffee Roasters, 73 Cowls Road in the Mill District. The conversation will focus on the upcoming Fiscal Year 2027 budget including revenue & expenditure projections, potential challenges, and capital projects.  

Mangano recently returned to the Town of Amherst after previously serving as the Town’s Finance Director from 2020 to 2023. Prior to this, he held various roles with the Amherst-Pelham Regional School District, including their Director of Finance. These experiences give him a comprehensive understanding of both municipal and school budgets, as well as the complex relationship between educational and municipal financial needs. Most recently, in 2023, Mangano took on the unique challenge of being the Executive Director of Finance for the Holyoke Public Schools. With the Holyoke Public Schools recently exiting state receivership, Mangano is eager to return to Amherst and contribute his expertise as we approach the upcoming budget season. 

The “Cuppa’ Joe with Paul” events are monthly and rotate locations around Town. Each time, Paul is joined by a different town department head or official who provides insights into their area of focus. Residents and others are welcome to share their concerns, offer suggestions, or just get to know each other.
