UMass University Without Walls (UWW) held their own virtual graduation ceremony at 12:30 PM on Friday, May 8, 2020.  The nine minute web cast featured UWW staff extending congratulations to the 280 graduates and some of the graduates themselves offering brief graduation speeches. That video can be viewed here. A album with photos of the graduates will be posted on UWW’s Facebook Page.  A listing of the names of all UMass graduates by program can be found here. . UWW is the final program in the list. 

UWW is an academic program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst designed to help working adults complete their first bachelor’s degree by granting credit for previous life experience. Students design their own program of study, take 100% online, blended, or on-campus courses that fit into their busy lives, and earn up to 105 credits for prior coursework, prior learning, and work and life experience

Since 1971, thousands of adults living throughout the U.S. and internationally have been awarded bachelor’s degrees through UMass UWW, including NBA legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Monster.com founder and CEO Jeff Taylor. Over 900 students are enrolled in UMass UWW each semester ranging in age from their 20’s into their early 70’s with an average age of 37.
