The Minutemen played without the tournament’s top scorer Carson Gicewicz and starting goaltender Filip Lindberg who were sidelined on COVID protocols. The Minutemen faced UMD in the national championship game in 2019, losing 3-0 and will face St. Cloud State in this year’s championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m. (ESPN). 1. This was a thrilling game! Kudos to the Minutemen for overcoming the adversity of losing four players to COVID protocols and for completely dominating the overtime. Many thanks to Rich Gagnon and UMass Athletics for sharing this great picture of the winning goal.
