Town Manager Nominates Two For New Appointments To Convervation Commission

Town Manager Paul Bockelman, in a memo to the Town Clerk dated June 13, nominated Jason Dorney of Hickory Lane and Bruce Stedman of Mt. Holyoke Drive for three year appointments to the Conservation Commission. The appointments, if approved, would expire June 30, 2026. The nominations were endorsed unanimously (3-0 with two absent) by the Town Services and Outreach Committee at their meeting on June 15, 2023 and will be sent on for approval by the full Town Council with a vote anticipated at their next meeting on June 26.

The Town Manager provided the following biographical profiles of the nominees.

Jason Dorney: works as a project manager in construction stormwater for an engineering firm and has spent his entire career in stormwater management. He is the past president of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association, a non-profit professional organization focused on erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, MS4 compliance, and surface water restoration He also serves on the Echo Hill South Homeowners Association Board of Directors.

Bruce Stedman: is the retiring director of Conway School of Landscape Design. He brings over 40 years’ experience in environmental affairs and has worked extensively with community groups, non-governmental organizations, private companies, Native American governments, and public agencies. He possesses advanced degrees in Planning, Landscape Design, and International Environmental Policy. In his career, he has planned and facilitated/mediated more than 30 policy/organizational discussions/disputes.
