The Amherst Department of Public Health announced on Thursday (7/27) that Puffers Pond is closed to swimming until further notice, due to high E. coli bacteria counts. The alert notes that swiming at the pond may cause serious illness. Water analysis reports for Pufffers Pond can be found here.

  1. Each time it rains it has to close, can we have a citizens’ project and test along the river to find the source of the contamination? Treat the problem and not the symptom
