Emily Dickinson Museum Director Jane Wald and the architect for their project to re-create the shed at the Austin Dickinson House in its approximate original location, reported on the proposed work at the Amherst Historic Commission meeting of January 8.  The re-created shed will used for activities and storage that now occurs in the kitchen area of the house, so that the ell of the house can be restored. The Historic Commission has an interest in this project and hopes to advise the Local Historic District Commission which will decide “the appropriateness” of the designs.
