Dear Reader,
This week’s Indy comes to you from Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park Colorado, and Breckenridge Colorado and with the assistance of committed staff back home and some very good internet here in Colorado.
We’ve been spending a good deal of time out on trails and attempting to acclimatize to the altitude and that’s given us small windows in which to produce this week’s issue. So we offer you what news we are able and will hopefully get us all caught up by next weekend.
Amherst Pride is this Sunday. We’ll still be in Colorado and won’t be able to join the celebration or cover the story ourselves for the Indy. Please consider writing a reflection on Amherst’s first Pride parade and/or sharing photos with the Indy. (amherstindy@gmail.com)
This week we welcome to the Indy our new summer intern Audrey Falkner, a rising senior and journalism major at UMass. Audrey has contributed two articles (see here and here) to this week’s issue and we feel fortunate to have her working with us this summer.
