Letter: Join the School Equity Advisory Committee
The Amherst Regional School Equity Advisory Committee (SEAC) is seeking parents, caregivers, and community members who are passionate about supporting equitable opportunities for all students. SEAC advises the Amherst Elementary and Amherst Regional School Committees on strategies to achieve equitable excellence across our schools, with a focus on the diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic, cultural, religious, ability, gender, and identity experiences represented within our student body.
SEAC advances equity by focusing on school culture and climate, reducing discipline disparities, and ensuring equitable access to academic excellence. Through collaboration, dialogue, and advocacy, committee members help shape policies and practices that foster belonging, respect, and success for every student. We invite you to consider joining this important work and helping create schools where all students can thrive.
We are also proud to share this recruitment flyer, designed by Zamina, an incoming sixth grader at Chestnut Street Academy, who we thank for her creativity and commitment.
Stop by the SEAC table at First Day Celebration on August 24, 2026, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Kendrick Park (ARMS Cafeteria, in case of rain) to learn more about the Committee, meet current members, and find out how you can get involved. For more information or an application to join, look here.
