About the Hampshire Campus Zoning Study
The Town of Amherst’s Hampshire Campus Zoning Study seeks to gather property information and community input that will guide new zoning. The information gathered will provide an understanding of the areas that are developable, the capacity of infrastructure (i.e. water, sewer, roadways), housing market demands, opportunities for economic development, and community goals.
A team of contracted experts is conducting the Zoning Study and will help the town gather data, organize information, host community engagement sessions, and share important updates throughout the process. The project aims to propose new zoning for the property in January/February 2027.
The Hampshire College Board of Trustees, as the property owner, will make all decisions about marketing and sale of the property.
If you are unable to attend these events, you can also submit questions and comments online. Materials from these sessions will be posted to the project website following both events.
