Dear Readers,
Photos of the Week will be on vacation until Oct. 24. To fill that hiatus, we have assembled this gallery of photos from some of our regular contributors. Enjoy!
Our feature, Photo of the Week, presents a new picture each week by a local photographer. We invite local photographers to share their photographs here. Please include a description/caption and an indication of who is to be credited.

With a height of up to 9.3 inches and a weight of 120–240 grams, the eastern screech-owl is the second-smallest owl species here in Western Mass (after the northern saw-whet). This one is a male, which means if he ever finds a mate, he’ll be the smaller of the pair. Photographed at Master of the Skies Falconry in RI. Photo: Darya Zelentsova
