The next Overpasses for Democracy event will be held on June 27, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m on 18 overpasses from Longmeadow, Massachusetts to Newbury Vermont. Click here for an interactive map of all of the locations.

Following the success of Indivisible’s overpass events on April 25 and May 23, they are doing it again. A coalition of progressive organizations across Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut will hold a coordinated standout on the overpasses across the region, including the I-91 overpasses and beyond. Going forward, this coalition plans to hold regular overpass standout events on the 4th Friday of every month! Frankln County Continuing Political Revolution, Gill Indivisible, and Indivisible West Quabbin will be covering seven overpasses in Franklin County.

The purpose of this action is to raise awareness about the multiple attacks on our society and our democracy by the Trump administration. The U.S. Congress is on the verge of passing legislation that will provide tax cuts to those who least need them, while also cutting the many services that millions of Americans depend on, including Medicare and Medicaid. At the same time, we are witnessing an increasing escalation in militarized attacks on our immigrant communities by ICE agents, undermining the rule of law, harming innocent people, and creating chaos.

Co-sponsors for this massive event include, but are not limited to:
Indivisible Northampton/Swing Left Western Mass
Indivisible Brattleboro
Gill Indivisible
Defend Democracy Indivisible Corinth-Topsham VT
Indivisible West Quabbin
Rise Up Western Mass Indivisible
Franklin County Continuing Political Revolution (FCCPR)

This is an opportunity for people to come together to demand that our government respect the rule of law and to visibly repudiate the plutocratic authoritarianism of the administration.
