Three Family Events on Tap to Help Celebrate the End of Summer.

Three family-friendly events are planned for downtown in the last weeks of August to help celebrate the end of summer.

End of Summer Family Fun Days
Wednesday, August 20 & Wednesday, August 27, at Kendrick Park, 50 East Pleasant Street.
This event is free and open to all.

Schedule of Events:
3–7 p.m. : Lawn games with Amherst Recreation, including badminton (adult and kid racquets), paddle smash, corn hole, spike ball, and more!

6–7 p.m. : Free pop-up live music in the park.

  • Aug 27: Green Street Brew

End of Summer Family Fun Days is sponsored by the Amherst Business Improvement District, and Amherst Recreation.

Town Rotary Fair
Friday August 22 – Sunday August 24. On the Amherst Town Common

This year marks the return of the annual Amherst Rotary Town Fair which was last held in August of 2022. The fair will feature lawn games and live music at Kendrick Park and carnival rides and games at the Amherst Town Common.  Carnival features include a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, games, and family-friendly fun. The schedule is as follows:

Friday, Aug 22: 5–10 p.m. (Wristband Night)
Saturday, Aug 23: 1–10 p.m. (Super Wristband Day)
Sunday, Aug 24: 1–6 p.m. (Wristband Day)

Proceeds benefit local student scholarships, nonprofit donations, and community grants.

Amherst Public Schools First Day Celebration
Monday, August 25, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Kendrick Park, 50 East Pleasant Street.
All ages welcome for an afternoon of fun, including meeting our superintendent and principals, checking out fire trucks and school buses, connecting with community partners, and enjoying a free ice cream treat. Let’s kick off the 2025-26 school year together!

4:30 – 5:30 p.m. will be a sensory-friendly portion of the evening.

This event is sponsored by the Amherst Public Schools and the Town of Amherst.
