Justice for Nolan Wells

They say it’s the economy

All about those money trees

like honey comb to a bee it’s human nature’s philosophy

but there can be no greater nook than the places of the heart that lie the cravings

 jealous passion

 that’s the heart

They say it’s about knowing oneself

taking the webs off  the shelf

reflecting on the past, turn the pages slow, so the story lasts

They say it’s about the eyes to know what’s inside, but the heart is where man’s truth will be told

They say it’s about the tongue, the word brings judgment that will soon come

They say it’s about forgiveness; that to forgive is to heal oneself, to judge is for someone else

but we know the police won’t punish themselves

They say it’s about patience to look beyond the pain, but the heart leads us back time and again to untamed desires

They say the heart is big, it drops, it looms, it holds  the beat from our mothers’ wombs

And yet it turns cold in the waters; it turns cold in those dark hours when your friends got membership

They say the heart is like a well; it goes deeper than anyone can tell. It does not hear nor smell; it opens and closes, swells, collapses, filters our true emotions, intentions, devotions

And perhaps our hearts will tell us what happened

What happened to love of neighbor

Love

What happened to Love?
