The Town of Amherst Assessor would like to remind Amherst residents about the many tax exemptions that are available.

What is a Tax Exemption?
Exemptions come in many different forms at every taxable level (Municipal and Federal) and if you qualify for an exemption, your tax bill could be reduced or your entire obligation to pay taxes could be eliminated.

Are you a veteran or legally blind? Are you 65 years of age or older? Do you have accessory dwelling unit that is for your parents or in-laws? If you answered yes to any of these questions you may be eligible for an exemption on your real estate taxes.
