June 14 has been designated No Kings Day, a day of protest against the authoritarian policies of the Trump administration. Continuing to call for an end to the unconditional U.S. military support of Israel is an important part of this larger protest. Without massive U.S. support, Israeli Prime Minster Netanyahu could not continue to prosecute his genocidal war. Therefore, as much as Americans need to protest the attacks of the Trump Administration on the U.S. people, we must continue to call for an end to U.S. taxpayer-funded attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

Does EVERYTHING have to connect to support for a group that has held hostages for 617 days? Is it possible to oppose a fascist takeover of the United States without linking that opposition to support for a group of murderers? On October 6, 2023, no resident of Gaza had any reason to fear an Israeli attack. That changed the next day when the government of Gaza decided that murder, rape, and kidnapping were justifiable behavior. The conflict in Gaza could have ended at any time that all of the hostages were released, but Gaza’s continue to ensure conflict by holding onto hostages.
