The Amherst Recreation Department has launched a new virtual program guide. As of 2026, Amherst Recreation will no longer mail physical program brochures; instead, families are encouraged to browse the seasonal catalog and check out what Amherst Recreation has been cooking up!
This new flipbook allows the department to support the town’s overall sustainability initiative, share information sooner, and, most importantly, make things easier for participants. There is a program for all, regardless of skill level, age, or community. This interactive flipbook includes all relevant information for fall programs, with links to register, contact, or stay in touch with Amherst Recreation!

The town should support/invest in more programs right after class at the middle school location which would serve 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Science and art clubs as well as sports that strengthen our high school athletics are definitely lacking. I have been asking for fall boys soccer for years with no success. Sad state of affairs considering we pay insanely high property taxes in a town full of capable college students who might be interested in working for course credit.
