New Jazz Concert Series at Masuda’s Cafe

Jazz at Masuda’s is an exciting new monthly concert series that will take place in the heart of Amherst Center at Masuda’s Café on select Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning on October 1, 2026. Masuda’s Café is located at 17 Kellogg Avenue.
Free of charge and open to the public, the series is hosted by acclaimed saxophonist and composer Jason Robinson, Joseph E. and Grace W. Valentine Professor of Music at Amherst College, and will feature a rotating quartet of local jazz luminaries, offering jazz students opportunities to participate by sitting in, and giving the local community an opportunity to experience world-class jazz performed by some of the region’s most creative musicians.
The series is a partnership between Masuda’s Café and the Music Department, the Center for Community Engagement, and the President’s Office at Amherst College, with support from the Amherst Business Improvement District and Cultural District. The additional fall 2026 dates for the series include November 12 and December 3, with spring semester 2027 dates to be announced in January 2027.
