Amherst resident Ira Bryck seeks respondents to a short survey that he is conducting on the desirability of living in downtown Amherst for families, professionals, workforce people, and people over 55 years of age. Bryck suspects that there is strong interest among all kinds of non-students to live downtown, and that they would be eager to do so if appropriate dwellings were designed, built, and managed  (and surrounded by relevant businesses and community). He will share the survey’s results with people who are most likely to create those dwellings.

Bryck said he seeks responses from anyone with an interest in the subject, not just Amherst residents, and that the survey will remain open as long as people continue to respond to it.

Bryck ran the Family Business Center until 2019 and now coaches business leaders and conducts executive searches. He is a long-time Amherst resident who has written frequently about issues of downtown businesses, housing, and zoning.

The survey can be accessed here.
