Izote Latin & American Kitchen, 460 West St. in Amherst, will celebrate its grand opening on May 6 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. The restaurant opened for business in mid-April.

Izote Latin & American Kitchen brings authentic Latin American food to Western Massachusetts, introducing a diverse selection of traditional dishes to enrich and inspire the local culinary landscape. Izote is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Breakfast — including most of the menu, except for the hot table — is served all day, so patrons can enjoy their favorites anytime. Hot table lunch service is available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Owner Ana Lourdes Artiga Paredes said, “We know that breakfast is the most important meal of your day. Rather than settling for a rushed, ordinary morning routine, you can fuel your schedule with hearty, expertly crafted dishes. We have designed a menu that blends the rich culinary traditions of Mexico, El Salvador, Latin America, and America to deliver delicious, high-quality meals for guests of all ages.”

At the heart of this new venture is Ana Lourdes Artiga Paredes, an accomplished restaurateur whose career spans every role in the industry — from busser and prep cook to chef, owner, and president. Ana is an immigrant from El Salvador who came to the United States seeking a brighter future for her then-5-year-old son. Driven by a strong commitment to creating opportunities and sharing her heritage, Ana now proudly leads two minority-owned restaurants: El Comalito Amherst and El Comalito Easthampton, both of which are 100% women-owned.

Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jacob Robinson welcomed the opening of Izote, saying, “We’re thrilled to welcome Izote Latin & American Kitchen to the Chamber and to the town of Amherst. Izote is a women- and minority-owned business, and we’re honored to celebrate a new restaurant that brings rich culinary tradition and a welcoming atmosphere to the Amherst area.”

The public is invited to the grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting, which will be held after regular hours from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. Izote invites the community to share in the excitement and experience its vibrant kitchen.
