On March 23, 2026, the Indy reported that it had begun to curate an archive of news stories and op-eds about the 2023 LGBTQIA+ discrimination crisis at Amherst Regional Middle School. That archive had been started by a parent amid the crisis. It lists links to over 300 articles written between May 9, 2023, and November 30, 2023. The Indy has pledged to maintain this archive, keep it accessible to the public, and bring it up-to-date in the near future. The most recent article related to the crisis dates to January 2026.

Following our announcement about the archive, a reader informed us that most of the links to the reports on Title IX and non-Title IX investigations that confirmed charges of harassment of LGBTQIA+ students by both students and staff at the Middle School, and faulted the district for failing to protect students from harm and for protecting perpetrators of that harm, were broken/dead.

We discovered that those documents had been moved to the school district’s records archives on BoardDocs.com .

The hyperlinks in our archive have now been corrected. Those reports can also be found via the links below.

We invite readers to help us bring this archive up-to-date by sharing articles (with URLs) that did not appear in the Indy as well as information on dead/broken links. Contact us at amherstindy@gmail.com
